Inconel Alloy 625
Inconel 625 is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy with non-magnetic properties, high melting point, stable mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance, which is widely used in aerospace, chemical, oil and gas, nuclear and automotive manufacturing.
Inconel 625 is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy with a variety of excellent characteristics, and has a wide range of applications in many fields.
Chemical composition
Mainly composed of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, niobium and other elements. Nickel is the main component, chromium, molybdenum, niobium and other elements added to strengthen a variety of roles, such as molybdenum, niobium for the main strengthening elements.
Performance characteristics
Magnetic properties
At room temperature
At 20 ℃, the magnetic permeability of Inconel 625 is close to 1.0. and the magnetic permeability of air is close to the performance of non-magnetic materials, will not be magnetized, and will not have a significant impact on the magnetic field.
Melting point
Mechanical properties
Low temperature conditions
Even at low temperatures of minus 200°C it still maintains its non-magnetic properties, which gives it an obvious advantage in applications requiring low magnetic interference, such as the aerospace and nuclear industries.
The melting point ranges from 1290°C to 1350°C, which is slightly lower than that of common stainless steels (e.g. 304 stainless steel with a melting point of 1400 - 1450°C), but still at a high level compared to most nickel-based alloys. The high melting point is mainly due to the strong internal bonding of nickel and chromium with other alloying elements such as molybdenum and niobium. The addition of molybdenum (content of about 8 - 10%) and niobium (content of about 3.15 - 4.15%) significantly improves the high temperature stability of the alloy. Molybdenum increases the creep strength of the alloy at high temperatures, and the combination of niobium and nickel is able to form stable intermetallic compounds, which further improves the thermal stability and oxidation resistance of Inconel 625.
In terms of the minimum mechanical properties at room temperature
There are tensile strength, yield strength, Brinell hardness and other indicators, although no specific values are given here.
Tensile and fatigue properties
From low temperature to 980 ℃ have good tensile properties and fatigue properties, in the low temperature to high temperature (such as 980 ℃) range shows stable mechanical properties, and even in the salt spray atmosphere can resist stress corrosion.
Corrosion resistance
To oxidizing and reducing environments
It has excellent corrosion resistance to various corrosive media in oxidizing and reducing environments.
Resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
It has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and does not produce stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides.
Resistance to inorganic acid corrosion
It has excellent resistance to inorganic acid corrosion, such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and mixed acid of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, etc. At the same time, it can show very good corrosion resistance in hydrochloric acid solution of various concentrations at a temperature of 40℃, and it shows excellent corrosion resistance in many mediums, and it has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion and erosion in chloride medium, and it also has the performance of resistance to corrosion of alkali and organic acid, and it has effective resistance to corrosion caused by chloride. Organic acid corrosion performance, effective resistance to chloride ion reductive stress corrosion cracking, in the static or cyclic environment are resistant to carbonization and oxidation, and resistance to corrosion of gases containing chlorine.
